HOPE has chosen a staff development strategy, with the guidance of Malcolm Webber of LeaderSource, which uses two simple frameworks: the 5C’s (Christ, community, character, calling, and competency) and RISE (relational, instructional, spiritual, and experiential). As ambassadors of Christ, we believe that regardless of specific roles—whether manager, intern, or executive team member—staff should be living in the fullness Christ promised. HOPE International’s security team uses the To Go Guide to help prepare travelers before they go on an international trip. All travelers are required to complete the checklist and in country contact sheets before departing. The guide reminds travelers of important steps such as obtaining the necessary immunizations and visas, registering with the US Department of State, and arranging all air and ground transportation.
