About MAP

At HOPE International, we know that microfinance institutions (MFIs) around the world share our commitment to bringing the hope of Christ and financial services to families living in poverty.

We also know that MFIs face shared challenges—accessing resources, developing operations, implementing structure, and expanding staff capacity.

We want to use our nearly 30 years of experience to walk with other Christ-centered MFIs looking to achieve sustainable growth and better serve their community.

Through MAP, MFIs will join a network of Christ-centered organizations and have access to holistic services, including:

  • Spiritual encouragement
  • Capacity-building for senior leaders
  • Cohorts for lateral learning (based on region, language, or time zone, when possible)
  • Small grants

What does MAP offer?

MAP incorporates five key components, each designed to provide valuable resources and guidance to leaders as they navigate challenges and opportunities of microfinance work.

Our principles

Kingdom-focused: We work alongside MAP partners to advance the Kingdom of God, “spur[ring] one another on toward love and good deeds” (Hebrews 10:24).

Prayerful: We and our partners rely on God to use times of prayer to form and lead us, and we employ both spiritual discernment and operational knowledge to guide decisions.

Mutual Listening: We commit with our partners to listening well to each other and to the Lord, as we seek to jointly create a fruitful partnership.

Who is MAP for?

  • Christ-centered
  • Legal entities licensed to provide small loans and advances
  • Actively engaged in lending operations
  • Supported by dedicated full-time staff
  • Seeking to bolster operational quality and growth
