The Discovering HOPE Experience is an interactive learning event intended to help you understand the impact of a unique poverty alleviation model called savings groups, which churches around the world use to tackle both material and spiritual poverty in their communities.
During the Discovering HOPE Experience, you will step into the shoes of a savings group member and engage with the stories of the real men and women HOPE International serves around the world. You will have the chance to role play during a simulated savings group meeting and engage in various scenarios real-life group members encounter.
As you symbolically meet, save money, and decide on loans with your group, you will gain a deeper understanding of the challenges people in poverty face. And you'll also see how God is working through His church to transform lives and make all things new.
HOPE International offers the Discovering HOPE Experience through two mediums: a 90-minute event with an in-person facilitator or an hour-long, self-guided video.
Ideal for groups of 6-10 people, our Discovering HOPE Experience video is an hour-long event with an on-screen facilitator who walks groups through each activity and interaction. Hosts provide the TV and meeting space, and we send instructions and a kit with the physical materials needed for the experience.
Learn moreIn certain locations, HOPE can offer this experience with an in-person facilitator to guide a gathering of people (usually a larger group) during a one-time event. This format extends the Discovering HOPE Experience to about 90 minutes, offering more time for discussion and Q&A with the HOPE representative.
