October 2026 prayer update

“See, I am doing a new thing! Now it springs up; do you not perceive it? I am making a way in the wilderness and streams in the wasteland.” Isaiah 43:19

This month, join us in praising the Lord for how He is at work redeeming His creation and drawing people to Himself! Pray that men and women facing hardships around the world would feel God’s presence and see evidence of His love for them.

Week 1

Please continue to pray for communities in South Asia* who experienced catastrophic flash flooding in late August that swept away entire villages. Pray that the Lord would work mightily through our partners in the region and local churches to meet immediate needs and comfort those grieving the loss of loved ones, homes, and livelihoods.

Pray for our Investing in Dreams events that are continuing to take place in cities across the United States this month. Pray that these gatherings would be a time of meaningful connection and celebration of how God is at work across the HOPE International network.

Week 2

​Praise God for Ibiyiringiro (“hope”) savings group in Rwanda, which is empowering single mothers like Aline. Through biblically based training, a supportive community, and group-funded loans, Aline and the other mothers in her group have built businesses that support their children. Now, Aline even sews uniforms for children at the local school whose families can’t afford them.

​As the Atlantic hurricane season enters its worst months, please pray for the safety of communities where the HOPE network serves. Ask God to protect our partners, staff, and the families we serve in the Dominican Republic and Haiti especially.

​Pray for communities in East Africa that continue to face an outbreak of Ebola (CDC). Praise God for the decrease in cases in Uganda, where HOPE has several partners, and pray that He would bring an end to the outbreak in the neighboring Democratic Republic of Congo.

Week 3

​Praise God for our partner in Mexico, AMEXTRA! In rural Mexico, many people have no choice but to commute four hours daily to work in major cities. Thanks to AMEXTRA’s investments in local businesses, rural families are reclaiming valuable time and creating new job opportunities right at home.

​Pray for entrepreneurs living with disabilities in the Republic of Congo as they access loans and build businesses through eight specialized loan groups from HOPE Congo. Beyond the financial training, pray that these men and women will feel empowered in their God-given gifts and abilities as our staff disciple them.

Praise God for Valentin and other entrepreneurs served by our partner Invest Credit in Moldova! After six years of working and serving as a pastor in Italy, Valentin used a business loan from Invest Credit to return home to his wife and children. He expanded his farm, built a successful oil milling business, and is now creating more employment opportunities for Moldovans at home.

Week 4

​Pray for our staff and local church partners as they expand savings groups in Benin. In Benin, belief in traditional African religion and voodoo are common and poverty rates are high. Pray that through the expansion of savings groups, our local church partners will be able to share the Gospel with men and women and help them grow their faith in Christ.

​Praise God for the ways He is protecting entrepreneurs like Eddie from predatory lending in the Philippines through our local partner, the Center for Community Transformation (CCT)! Eddie, a father of six, used a business loan from CCT to grow his mobile store. With the success that followed, Eddie has provided stable housing for his employees, built a home for his family, and began hosting community gatherings and church services!

​Praise God for the ways Turame Community Finance, HOPE’s microfinance institution in Burundi, is helping farmers flourish. Agricultural loans now make up 40% of Turame’s loan portfolio and are paired with an agriculture-focused spiritual integration curriculum. Pray that God would continue to help farmers improve their harvests and discover the God-given dignity of their work.

Week 5

​Please continue to pray for the safety of HOPE staff and entrepreneurs in Ukraine during the ongoing war and drone strikes in the capital Kyiv. Pray that God would bring comfort and strength to Ukrainians affected by this devastating conflict, and for a swift and just end to the war.

​Praise God for Yamikani, a member of Unity savings group in Malawi, who’s using loans from his group to invest in the wellbeing of children in his community! Yamikani has worked hard to expand his tutoring work and started a nursery school called Mount Miracle with his wife, providing affordable education for local students.
