About

AT HOPE INTERNATIONAL, WE’RE ON A MISSION TO FIGHT POVERTY IN ALL ITS FORMS.

We’re working to see families freed from the loneliness of poverty.
We yearn for restoration of the dignity that poverty has stolen.
We’re equipping men and women with the financial tools they need to pursue their dreams.
And we pray for more families to know the hope of Christ.

Come hear how HOPE’s model uniquely positions us to respond to the changing landscape of poverty today and how you can take part.

Chris Horst

Chris Horst is a senior development ambassador at HOPE International, where he employs his passion for advancing initiatives at the intersection of faith and work. In addition to his role at HOPE, Chris spends an alarming percentage of his free time tending to his yard with all of the loving care normally afforded to newborn children. He and his wife, Alli, have four human children of whom they are even prouder than their lawn—Desmond, Abe, June, and Mack. As a dad to four kiddos, Chris has recently undergone a radical transformation from self-proclaimed foodie to a man who prepares far more trays of chicken nuggets than avocado toast. He wouldn’t change it.

Chris serves on the board of the Mile High WorkShop. He loves to write, having been published in The Denver Post and Christianity Today and co-authored Mission Drift, Rooting for Rivals, and The Gift of Disillusionment with Peter Greer. Christianity Today, WORLD Magazine, and the Evangelical Christian Publishers Association named Mission Drift a book of the year in 2015. Chris was a very average student, but he did graduate with both a bachelor’s degree from Taylor University and an MBA from Bakke Graduate University.

Michelo Siachaya

Michelo has been with HOPE Zambia since the program launched in 2015. Starting as a training coordinator, she was promoted to her current role in January 2020. As technical advisor, she builds meaningful relationships with church partners, staff, and donors; supports listening, monitoring, and evaluation efforts with the men and women we serve; and maintains quality systems and processes. Michelo has a bachelor’s in adult education from the University of Zambia, and she and her husband, Alex, have three children: Maya, Moono, and Maluba.
