The Philippines' economy is growing, but not fast enough to alleviate poverty for the 34 million Filipinos living below the poverty line. Many more Filipinos have gone abroad to find work and are sending what they can afford back home to their families. The country is dependent on these remittances, especially as it struggles with a substantial national debt. HOPE works with a locally-based partner organization, Center for Community Transformation (CCT), in the Philippines.

HOPE's partner is committed to holistic development and offers a number of additional services, such as life insurance, health insurance, and housing loans, to complement its microenterprise development services. HOPE's Filipino clients meet weekly in accountability groups where they study the Bible, repay their loans, and contribute to their savings.
