HOPE Global Investment Fund
HOPE Global Investment Fund (HGIF) is an investment affiliate of HOPE International which supplements HOPE's traditional means of raising funds through charitable donations, thereby allowing HOPE to leverage its funds. Contrary to most external debt options, HGIF provides capital to programs in countries that are considered less "stable" because, although the risk profile is significantly different from lending in more developed countries, the investment can accomplish tremendous good. HGIF's loans to HOPE's affiliate microfinance institutions (MFIs) further build the credibility of the affiliate institutions, preparing them for better access to other sources of capital over the longer term and assisting the MFIs to become self-sustaining financial institutions within their countries. HGIF exists to provide a flexible source of debt capital that is able to address gaps in debt funding and empower MFIs to fulfill their lending mission.
