Who is HOPE International?

“Employment builds hope, produces dignity, and creates a sustainable solution to poverty.” Peter Greer, Created to Flourish

Meaningful work is the engine of human flourishing.

Endowed with God-breathed gifts and passions, we reflect our Creator as we labor to bear fruit and bless others, inviting them to experience the dignity of meaningful work.

But in our broken world, many barriers can keep us from flourishing, and poverty is one of the greatest barriers.

In Created to Flourish, Peter Greer and Phil Smith explore the Church’s call to respond to families living in poverty and discuss practical ways to get involved. Learn how men and women around the world are using employment-based solutions to provide for their families and serve their communities.

A holistic approach

At HOPE International, we believe men and women in poverty have the God-given talents and skills to provide for their families.

What they don’t have is a lump sum of money to invest in their potential—by paying school fees, saving for the future, or investing in businesses. In obedience to Christ’s command to love our neighbor and make disciples of all nations, we provide discipleship opportunities, training, a safe place to save, and small loans. In addition to material sufficiency, we desire to see men and women around the world find their soul’s satisfaction in Christ and become dignified, hope-filled providers in their families and communities.
