“Employment builds hope, produces dignity, and creates a sustainable solution to poverty.” Peter Greer, Created to Flourish
Endowed with God-breathed gifts and passions, we reflect our Creator as we labor to bear fruit and bless others, inviting them to experience the dignity of meaningful work.
But in our broken world, many barriers can keep us from flourishing, and poverty is one of the greatest barriers.
In Created to Flourish, Peter Greer and Phil Smith explore the Church’s call to respond to families living in poverty and discuss practical ways to get involved. Learn how men and women around the world are using employment-based solutions to provide for their families and serve their communities.
"This book is a timely and prophetic word, combining solid theology, best practices, and deeply moving stories from the front lines."

"God made us to experience material sufficiency, to engage in meaningful relationships, and to experience the dignity and joy that comes from knowing we’re wonderfully made and uniquely loved. God created us to flourish." Peter Greer, Created to Flourish
At HOPE International, we believe men and women in poverty have the God-given talents and skills to provide for their families.
What they don’t have is a lump sum of money to invest in their potential—by paying school fees, saving for the future, or investing in businesses. In obedience to Christ’s command to love our neighbor and make disciples of all nations, we provide discipleship opportunities, training, a safe place to save, and loans. In addition to material sufficiency, we desire to see men and women around the world find their soul’s satisfaction in Christ and become dignified, hope-filled providers in their families and communities.
